COOK FAMILY WEBSITE ARRIVES

By Daniel T. Ditto

The Cook Family Organization has a new website!! Thanks to the hard work of many family members, we have begun work on a family website. Come visit us at: the new site: http://www.cookfamily.org. We are confident that the website will enable us to accomplish many aspects of our mission. It will enable us to (1) better communicate with family members, (2) improve access to family research, (3) enable family members to pay dues over the internet, (4) order family materials, (5) look at family pedigree and group sheets, (6) set up their own e-mail addresses, (7) give all family members access to family histories, pictures, etc., (8) act as a bulletin board for family information, and a number of other possibilities. Pictured above is a page similar to the first page of the website. As the website is developed, you will be able to go to your family genealogy, by selecting and "clicking" on the picture of the wife that you are descended from. Other features of the website will include a list of family officers, information about the family organization, an electronic newsletter, significant research information including projects that are currently being worked on, unresolved research issues and resources, family histories and pictures, and information about joining the family organization. This effort is proceeding with the approval of the Board and the family officers. If anyone is interested in helping with the website - or if you have experience with websites, please email Daniel Ditto at: DanDitto@cookfamily.org. In addition, if you want to visit the website and leave your suggestions and/or recommendations you can do so by visiting the "guest book" and adding your comments. You may also sign up to be notified any time there is a major enhancement to the website. Do it today and stay abreast of what is happening with the family organization! We have put together a "web team" of talented individuals who are making substantial commitments of time and resources to make this effort successful. We especially want to thank Randy Cook who has donated a server to host the website, and Robert Thomas who has donated a great deal of time to develop the site, as well as Robert Brueckner who has helped to move this process along. We commend Guy Cook, LaMar Day and the other family officers for their foresight and vision.
